Llwyn Celyn September Heritage at Work Volunteers
We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer – perhaps including some time in a Landmark! Here’s our latest update on the amazing volunteer work that has been going on at Landmark.
Llwyn Celyn Heritage at Work weeks 2017
Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, we were able to host two more Heritage at Work weeks at Llwyn Celyn in May and September. A big thank you to our brilliant volunteers who helped to build the growing dry stone wall, repoint the Drying Shed and Beast House, host the open day and create a fantastic traditional Welsh stick chair and Welsh stool. These are the last Llwyn Celyn H@W weeks but it’s a model we hope to repeat on other projects.

Open Days
So far this year, we’ve opened 31 buildings for public open days. September is our busiest month when we opened 17 buildings for Heritage Open Days, Scottish and Welsh Open Doors. We’ve had a fantastic 7,300 visitors on these weekends alone. Thank you to all our volunteers who have helped at all our open days this year!  There are two open weekends still to come at North Street and Woodspring Priory so if you would like to get involved please email us.

Crownhill Fort
It’s been a hive of volunteer activity at Crownhill Fort. Well done to everyone who has got involved, from repointing and resetting loose copping stones to making replacement doors for gun lockers and restoring the Moncrieff Disappearing Gun - there is never a dull moment. Crownhill Fort thrives under all your continued efforts and support – thank you!

Friends Volunteers at Shottesbrooke
Our dedicated Friends volunteers Abigail Clark, Jenny Elliot and Jessica Penney have been hard at work here at Shottesbrooke organising events and houseshares for Landmark Friends. Only last week they packaged and sent over 1,500 Friends newsletters and calendars. The Friends scheme relies on their fantastic support – thank you all. Find out more about Landmark Friends.

Love maps?  – We need you!
We are looking for a volunteer to help our Business Operations team consolidate Landmark’s various map information ahead of digitisation. Live near Shottesbrooke and sound like something you would like to do? Email us if you’re interested.
